In my experience over the last 30 plus years, people looking to consider building their own home look to do it for two basic reasons. They either wish to have control over the process or are looking to save money. Both reasons are sound. I’m going to lay out a few things for you to consider.
First, having control over the process is a powerful position for anyone building or remodeling a home. Along with having the control over the process, it also means that you have the responsibility for doing so. In order for you to manage this process effectively you need to understand the mechanics of preparing, the resources to make informed decisions and the execution of the development.
